Recommendation Technology Rules

Version of · effective upon publication

How Vitrina chooses which activities to show on the home feed: Editor's choice, Top, New and a random activity. What data is used for this.

This English version is a translation provided for convenience. If it differs from the Russian version, the Russian version prevails (clause 13.4 of the Terms of Use).

1. General provisions

1.1. These Rules describe how the Vitrina service (the mini app @VitrinaRandomBot) selects and orders activities shown to Users. Terms are used as defined in the Terms of Use.

1.2. Recommendation technologies are used on the home feed of the mini app and in activity collections. Recommendation technologies do not determine or change the results of draws.

2. How the feed is built

2.1. The home feed shows only activities that the Organizer has proposed for display and that have passed review by the Vitrina team.

2.2. Editor’s choice — an activity selected manually by the Vitrina team.

2.3. Top — running activities admitted to the collection by the Vitrina team, ordered by rating. The rating is recalculated once a day and takes into account the number of participants in the activity and the number of tries over the last day, with the number of participants weighted more heavily.

2.4. New — activities launched within the last 48 hours and admitted to the collection by the Vitrina team in which the User is not yet participating.

2.5. Random activity — the «Здесь что-то случайное!» (Something random here!) button gives the User a randomly selected running activity from those admitted to the collection in which they are not yet participating. The number of such picks per day is limited and may depend on a subscription to Vitrina’s channel for participants.

2.6. Cross-promo bonus prizes are picked for a winner at random from partners’ prizes from channels on other topics that are still available and that the winner has not yet received.

3. What data is used

  • information about activities: status, launch date, number of participants and tries, Vitrina team marks;
  • whether the User has taken part in an activity and whether they have received a prize;
  • the topic of the Organizer’s channel;
  • for the random activity — the number of times it was shown to the User during the day and a subscription to Vitrina’s channel for participants.

Data on the User’s behavior in other services, their interests, location and device is not used for recommendations.

4. The Operator’s influence

4.1. The Vitrina team may, at its discretion, admit activities to collections and remove them, select the Editor’s choice, change the selection rules, and take partnership arrangements and paid promotion into account.

4.2. The User does not have to use the home feed and collections: activities are available via Organizers’ direct links.

5. Feedback

Questions about how recommendations work and complaints — to the manager @vitrina_manager.

6. Changes

The Operator may unilaterally change the recommendation technologies and these Rules; a new version takes effect upon publication on vitrinarandom.com.
